The MRT Purple Line Project extends from the MRT Purple Line (Bang Yai – Tao Poon Section) as an underground route and enters into Samsen Road near Bang Sue Canal and passes the new Parliament Building, Rajinibon School, Department of Royal Irrigation, Vajira Hospital, National Library of Thailand and Bang Lamphu Canal. It turns leftwards to Phra Sumen Road, passing Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Phan Fa Intersection and Maha Chai Road. After that, the route goes along Chak Phet Road crossing under the Chao Phraya River to Prajadhipok Road through Wongwian Yai. After it passes Mahai Sawan Intersection, it changes the level to elevated structure along Suk Sawat Road passing Pracha Uthit Intersection, Rat Burana and Phra Pradaeng Intersection reaching the depot at Kanchanaphisek Outer Ring Road. The 17-station route (10 underground stations and 7 elevated stations) spans 23.6 kilometres.
