Pattern Development’s Corona Wind Center will help transform the energy economy of the American West. At more than 3,000 collective megawatts, the seven Corona Wind Center projects will be the most affordable, reliable, renewable power available to customers from California to New Mexico.
The Corona Wind Projects consist of Ancho Wind LLC, Cowboy Mesa LLC, Duran Mesa LLC, Red Cloud Wind LLC, Tecolote Wind LLC, Gallinas Mountain Wind LLC, and Viento Loco LLC. Together they will make up the largest wind project in the US.
Pattern estimates 690 Million gallons of water conserved, 1,285,000 metric tons of CO2 avoided, and 25,000 houses powered
Tapping some of the best wind in the world, this site has a powerful generation profile with an evening peak that is a perfect complement to daytime solar and displaces the need for more expensive, ramping fossil fuels.
The first Corona Wind Center projects will come online by 2020, and the energy will ultimately reach markets by way of new and existing grid infrastructure, including the 345 kV Western Spirit line and the 500 kV SunZia Southwest Transmission Project.
