The Bradley Solar Project is a proposed 120-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) solar energy generation facility, in Penobscot County, Maine, approximately three (3) miles east of Town of Bradley and ten (10) miles northeast of Bangor, Maine.
The Project will safely generate enough clean, renewable electricity to power approximately 15,000 Maine households. The Project will interconnect to Versant Power’s (formerly Emera Maine) existing grid line within the Town of Bradley, tapping into Passadumkeag to Graham 115 kV (“kV”) transmission line which runs adjacent to the project area, thus avoiding the need for any new lengthy transmission lines. The Project will be sited within a 2,500 acre area of commercial timber land and will be designed to minimize impacts to the local environment and the host community, with the final project footprint being closer to 800-900 acres.
-Around $18 Million in development and construction spend.
-$15 Million generated in local taxes over the life of the project to benefit the community.
-Around $750,000 per year to the local community in land payments and other benefits.
-More than 138 jobs at the peak of construction. Construction is anticipated to last 12-18 months during 2022 and 2023.
-2-3 full time skilled jobs during the 25 year operating life of the Project.
